Welcome to the City of Garrett!
Welcome to the City of Garrett, our city, proudly listed as the 27th safest city in Indiana (2014) offers safe neighborhoods, a proactive police & fire department, hardworking city departments, great schools, a variety of retailers, eating and drinking establishments, and many churches in which to worship.
A strong sense on Military Pride is shown through events sponsored by our local V.F.W. and American Legion. Civic, business, and non-profit groups assist with many local functions and community wide activities. Our downtown has beautiful flowers and designs provided by our Garrett garden club volunteers.
Our six parks and the Jordan Wetlands are favorite places for many families during the warm weather months; busy with baseball, softball, T-Ball, visitors, and reunions! We are proud of our beautiful Garrett Public Library-complete with a new expansion to better serve the community. The Historical Railroad Museum and the Garrett Museum of Art are both wonderful amenities located right here in northeast Indiana.
The city Pool (mini-water park), outdoor Auburn-Garrett Drive-in Theatre & the Garrett Golf Course are all acclaimed attractions during the warm weather months.
Garrett’s festivals are a great place to bring your friends and family to enjoy some old fashion fun, food, entertainment & activities! Mark your calendars for Heritage Days (July 3 &4) and Summer Seventies Music Festival (August 15).
The Garrett Chamber of Commerce provides resources and networking with our local businesses and community leaders and a personal “Welcome Bag” given to new residents featuring our chamber member businesses. We are a great friendly community close to everything you need…“Choose Garrett, A Growing Community!”
