Garrett Recycling Center
The Garrett Recycling Center is a drive-through facility located at 113 North Cowen Street in Garrett. The Center is open:
- Wednesdays: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Fridays: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Saturdays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
The Center accepts: *
- Aluminum.
- Batteries.
- Cardboard (not wax coated).
- Glass (clear, brown and/or green only).
- Motor oil (cannot be mixed with water, dirt, etc.) in one or 5 gallon containers.
- Newspapers - Catalogs - Magazines - Phone Books.
- Plastic (not # 3, 4, 5, 6 or unmarked).
- Scrap iron, metal, copper, brass, etc.
- Tires ($2.50 per tire charge -- No tractor tires).

Common trash or solid waste is not accepted. Hard plastic cookie
/ cake containers, commonly purchased at area food stores, and styrofoam items, are also not accepted.
If you wish to deliver recyclables to the Center, please remember the following rules: remove labels from tin cans; wash glass and plastic containers; deliver only Number 1 and Number 2 rated plastics that carry the three-arrow recycling symbol; and please deliver only recyclables, not garbage.
The Center needs volunteers. Please call the City of Garrett at 260-357-3836 if you wish to volunteer.
Please recycle daily and year-round.
