Elected Officials - Common Council
The Common Council serves as the legislative and fiscal body for the City of Garrett. The Council considers and adopts all ordinances, orders, resolutions and motions for governing the city. The Council also authorizes City expenditures by adopting the annual City budget.
The City is divided into four Councilmanic districts, each with its own Council representative. A Council-at-large seat, encompassing the entire City, comprises the fifth seat on the Council.
The Council meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 PM. Council Chambers is located in City Hall on the second floor,130 South Randolph Street, Garrett.
The handicapped entrance is located on the north side of city hall.
The following members of the Garrett Common Council were elected November 8, 2011. Their current terms run through December 31, 2015.
