Chapter 75 - Traffic Schedules

 

SCHEDULE I: SPEED LIMITS.

            It is hereby determined, upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation, that the speed permitted by state law on the following streets or portions thereof is different than is reasonable and safe under the conditions found to exist upon such segments. It is hereby declared that the maximum speed limit on these segments herein designated shall be as herein stated, which speeds so declared shall be effective at times specified herein when signs are erected giving notice.

(A) 20 mile per hour speed limit.

(D) The Police Chief is hereby specifically authorized to place speed limit signs to accomplish all of the designations shown hereinabove and is specifically designated, as a result of direct action by the Common Council, to place appropriate signs on the west side of Cowen Street with signs located on the block between Dennis and McHenry Street, on the block between First and Second Avenue, on the block between Second and Fourth Avenue and the block between Fourth Fifth Avenue.
